Hello Polarity Community Members,
.
It has now been a year since I chose to be the director and administrator of the Polarity Center. The rewards personally have been enriching as well as the “learning on the job” experience.
.
I said last year that I would be the director for one year and then reassess whether I would continue as director or close the center.
.
I know the Polarity Center is well worth the time and effort. The students who come through these classes are exceptional people as well as practitioners. Our community as a whole is filled with this unique quality of integrity, competency and commitment. Every presenter at our annual spring conference is impressed with our community as a whole.
.
However, I’m stepping down from the role of director and administrator. I am humbled by my predecessors’ dedication to this post. I now know what it takes to continue the Center in this capacity.
.
I am proposing to change the leadership of the Center rather than close its doors. That proposal is to:
.
- Have a committee to organize and run the spring conferences.
- Explore a business structure with a board of directors to handle the administration and oversee the Center’s functions.
.
These will be volunteer posts with a 2-3 year commitment.
.
I am willing to be the teaching director, but not the administrative director. If we are to continue to offer classes and develop more classes, especially another Level 4 class, I need time to prepare.
.
Please join me at a Community Meeting from 10 am – 1 pm on January 21 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Ann Arbor to discuss the change in leadership and energy for the Polarity Center.
.
Respectfully,
Karen Kerns, RPE
